How does a laser work?

How to laser engrave - the basics. During laser engraving, the surface of the workpiece is melted and vaporized by the heat generated by the laser beam. This is known as "material removal". The recess formed on the surface of the workpiece in this way becomes the engraving.

The visual material to be engraved is usually sent via engraving software directly from the graphics program to the laser engraver. Laser engraving is one of the most accurate processing methods in the engraving business. Thanks to a resolution of up to 1,000 ppi (= 39 pixels per mm) detailed graphics can be engraved accurately on even the smallest material surfaces.

Laser marking with the Rayjet is an entirely non-contact process, which causes no mechanical wear and tear on the device and ensures that the laser engraver has a long operational life. You only need to regularly clean the Rayjet's focus lens, other than that no maintenance is required.

How does the Rayjet laser engraver work?

The Rayjet is a flatbed laser with a powerful CO2 laser source. The laser beam produced by the laser source is deflected by mirrors and projected by the laser head onto the working surface.
